The Calgary Board of Education has granted students with access to the latest version of Microsoft Office as part of their Office in education program. This guide contains a list of steps in order to download the Office 365 ProPlus application which is compatible with Mac and Windows PC.
Step 1: Access the following website on your web browser:
Step 2: Enter your school ID into the email bar ending it with @cbe.ab.ca.
For example, if your school ID username is 123456789, then you will enter firstname.lastname@example.org
Step 3: The webpage will inform you that it is redirecting and after a few seconds a pop-up will appear. Enter your school ID username and password into the corresponding sections and press OK.
Step 4: Once the page loads, you will see your name in the upper right corner, click on it and a set of options will appear. Select the View account option. You could install Office 2013 from the homepage itself but if you want to have the latest and greatest version of the program, then you have to navigate a little more.
Step 5: Once in the My account section, click on the Manage desktop installs option.
Step 6: This page will show you the install status of your Office programs. Click on Install desktop applications to proceed.
Step 7: Scroll to the bottom of the page and under the Install Office 365 ProPlus with new 2016 apps headline, click on the install button.
Step 8: You’re all set! Just let the application download and install which could take around 30-45 minutes. You have up to 5 installs which means you can get the full Office applications on your phone, tablet or other computers. If you use all 5 copies and want to get access to another install, simply go to the Manage desktop installs section and deactivate the program on the device you no longer need and it will free up a slot.
